An old legend regarding the Firstmourn Forest claims that the First Moon of the Seven Moons had initially rejected the plan for all seven moons to merge into one, and had insisted that they remain as their separate individual selves. But when after much discussion it was still decided that the merge would occur, the First Moon acquiesced, though only after having secretly cut a small piece of itself away to be free and sending it down to the world that they had created. This small piece landing on Solace in the area of what is now the Firstmourn Forest. This supposed small-piece of the first moon, this mythical beast, is rumored to still live to this very day. Is there only one of its kind? Blessed with some manner of god-like life span because of the deity that it was cut from? Or are there many of it? Having somehow propagated itself throughout the ages?
Theories and speculations regarding the possible appearance and form of this mythical beast vary greatly. Though the majority lean towards the following description: A creature that is equal parts beautiful and frightening to behold. The size of a three story building. A mix of fur and feathers of varying patterns and shades of blue, white and black. It has a long prehensile tail. Four legs, each with serrated claws. The front claws contain opposable digits which can either be used for walking or used with the dexterity of a person's hands. It can walk on all fours or it can stand up and walk on its hind two legs. The lower torso is slender. The upper torso is bulkier and perhaps muscular. The neck is longer than it aught to be. The head can turn in 360 degrees. There are two dazzling icey blue eyes at the front of its head plus a third eye on the back of its head. Some parts of its back and spine are covered by some manner of partial exoskeleton. There's a sharp beak for a mouth. And it has at least four wings, though sometimes more, which enable flight.
Numerous vague reports throughout history concerning mysterious deaths in or near the area in which this mythical beast supposedly resides, leads people to believe that it is not a particularly friendly being. Yet also an intelligent one.
