Quests & bounties
Throughout the Kingdom, especially in the Great Mane Pub and the Hunters' Lodge, you may find notice boards chock full of requests for brave mercs and adventurers, promising rewards in cash. Whether you're a hunter or a mercenary, or just an adventurous soul that wants to earn Crowns for dealing with potentially life-threatening situations, these boards are surely worthy of your attention.
Quests
Quests are essentially preset RP ideas that you can take and carry out with a roleplay partner. These will provide you with an objective and a minimum word count requirement that you must all meet before cashing in.
The word count requirement applies to all the posts in the roleplay, meaning you and your partner(s) contribute towards it. This also means that, the more people are involved in a quest, the easier it will be to meet the word count. Of course, you'll also want to actually fulfill the objective, because nobody likes to leave a roleplay unfinished!
To count your words, you simply have to copy all the posts in the roleplay and paste them in the Word Counter. Once you have reached the minimum word count requirement, take a screenshot of the word counter and send it in the #quest-board channel, tagging @Admins. Your Crowns will then be added to your wallet.
Roleplaying automatically rewards you with Crowns, so taking a quest will serve as an additional reward.
Quests can be given by Notorious Characters, faction members, NPC's, and other players. You can submit your own quest to the #quest-board if you'd like to come up with your own. Solo quests are not allowed—you must have a roleplay partner to take a quest.
Quests come in three tiers.
Tier 1 Quest: Small Adventure.
Fill 5,000 Words for a reward of 20 Crowns.
Tier 2 Quest: Memorable Experience.
Fill 10,000 Words for a reward of 40 Crowns.
Tier 3 Quest: Journey of a Lifetime.
Fill 15,000 Words for a reward of 60 Crowns.
You can only do ONE quest at a time, regardless of your character.
You cannot take a quest that has already been taken.
Bounties
Bounties are rewards put on a character's head as a consequence for their deeds throughout the Kingdom. These are also announced in the #quest-board channel.
Notorious Characters and high-ranking faction members can put a bounty on a character who has wronged them. Be it a lawbreaker or a do-gooder who messed with the wrong organization, anyone can have a price on their head as a consequence of their actions—and anyone can pursue it. But beware! Chasing bounties can come with consequences, and you may find yourself in the crosshairs next...
Bounties come in four tiers.
Tier 1 Bounty: Minor Transgressions.
The target is wanted ALIVE. Reward of 25 Crowns.
Tier 2 Bounty: Considerable Offenses.
The target is wanted ALIVE. Subject may be dangerous. Reward of 40 Crowns.
Tier 3 Bounty: Serious Crimes.
The target is wanted ALIVE. Subject is dangerous; hunters are advised to proceed with caution. 50 Crowns.
Tier 4 Bounty: Grave Violations.
The target is wanted DEAD OR ALIVE. Subject is an HVT that must be eliminated by any means necessary. 60 Crowns.
You may pay your bounty off with your own Crowns—everything has a price, after all. Alternatively, you can turn yourself in to the character or faction that wants you captured. Maybe you'll come to an agreement; maybe you will be punished.
Paying your bounty off will cost you double the price, and you can only do it twice. Repeat offenders cannot escape justice!
Tag an @Admin if you want to pay off your bounty. It will be removed, along with your Crowns. Keep in mind paying off your bounties doesn't exempt you from getting a higher one if you misbehave again.
Multiple people can accept a bounty. You may have competition, or several hunters after you.
Remember—you can only do so many crimes before you are beyond forgiveness and redemption...
